General Information
I received a traffic ticket. What are my
options?
If you have received a traffic violation, you typically have
three options:
OPTION 1: You may pay the penalty as noted on your
citation or as prescribed by law. If
applicable, points will be assessed against your driving
record.
OPTION 2: You may contest the citation if you
feel you are not guilty. If you choose this option,
you will be required to appear in court on your court date
as stated on your citation. If the court
determines you have committed the offense, a penalty will be
imposed and points will be
assessed against your driving record.
OPTION 3: If you meet certain qualifications,
you may attend an approved Driver Improvement
School. If you elect and complete this option, the
case against you will be nol-possed and no
points will be assessed against your driving record.
What qualifications do I have to meet to attend the Driver
Education Program Online for a
traffic ticket?

You may only attend traffic school once a year for a traffic violation, unless
you get special permission from the court/judge having jurisdiction over your
case. You will be provided with an affidavit that must be signed by you,
notarized, and then mailed along with your court cost to the court clerk of the
county in which you received your citation.

You cannot attend traffic school without first obtaining permission from the
court/judge that issued the citation for any violations that require a court
appearance. These violations include, but are not limited to the following:
Reckless Driving, Driving Without First Obtaining a Driver's License, Driving
Under the Influence (DUI), Driving While Revoked, Driving While Suspended. If a
court appearance is required it will noted on your citation.
What are the advantages of taking the Driver Education Program
Online?
There are many advantages associated with this program, the
greatest of which is keeping a clean driving record and avoiding a suspension
or revocation of driving privileges. There are monetary advantages to
completing this course as well, such as lower insurance premiums, and in many
cases keeping or acquiring a job that requires a clean driving record.

Driver Education helps prepare those applying for an Alabama driver’s license.

It keeps licensed drivers current on traffic law and safe driving practices.

Satisfies Commercial/Industrial liability insurance requirements.

Many insurers offer premium discounts after the completion of this course.

For traffic violators who are eligible to elect this option and successfully
complete the course:
a) No points are added to your driving record.
b) The ticket is nol-prossed, meaning prosecution will be terminated.
c) Current driving status is retained.
d) You will avoid exposure to insurance penalties.
How much does it cost to attend the Driver Education Program
Online?
The cost of the Driver Education Program Online is $40.00. This
fee can be paid during the registration process with a credit card (Visa,
MasterCard, or Discover); or you may mail a money order to the following
address: 3201 Midtown Park South, Mobile, Alabama 36606.
If you have a traffic ticket there may be an additional fee imposed by the
court. You must contact the court in which you received the violation to obtain
the costs associated with your ticket.
What will I need in order to attend the Driver Education Program Online?
You will need all of the following to attend the online course:

A computer with internet access. If you do not have access to a computer, most
public libraries and universities have computers available for public use. For
optimal performance, be sure you are using the most recent versions of Netscape
or Microsoft Internet Explorer. If you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer,
you can upgrade your browser at
http://www.mircosoft.com/windows/ie/default.htm.
If you are using Netscape Communicator, you can upgrade your browser at
http://netscape.com/computing/download/index.html.

An e-mail address. If you do not have your own e-mail address, you can obtain a
free e-mail account at the following websites:

www.mail.yahoo.com.
Course Information
How do I login and logout of the course once I have registered?
To login: Go to our homepage at
www.alcrep.com. Located on the left menu panel are fields
for your Login ID and Password. Enter your Login ID and Password in the
provided spaces, then click Login. Please remember that both your Login ID and
Password are case sensitive.
To logout: All you have to do is click Logout, which is located on the left
menu panel.
Will I have to pass a test?
Yes, there will be quizzes at the end of each section and a
final exam that must be passed to complete the course. However, you will have
the opportunity to review all of the material before beginning the quizzes and
final exam. You will also be allowed re-take the quizzes and final exam as many
times as needed if you do not pass.
What if I have trouble passing the quizzes or test, can I have
a friend or family member help me?
No, you may not have a friend or family member help you with the
quizzes or test. If you are attending the course for a traffic citation,
you are required to sign an affidavit stating you alone will complete all the
course requirements. However, if you are having problems understanding the

How long will it take to complete the Driver Education Program
Online?
The Driver Education Program Online allows you to work at your
own pace. There are no time restraints placed on this course. The amount of
time spent in this course will depend on your ability to read and absorb the
material. We recommend that you take your time as you proceed through the
course, because you will be tested on this material.
Will I have to complete the entire course at one time?
You are not required to complete the entire course all at one
time, but you can if you would like. You will be able to login and logout at
any time and as often as you wish. Your position in the course will be tracked
every time you logout. Therefore, when you log back in you will be taken to
your current position in the course.
When will I receive my certificate of completion?
After
completion of this course, your certificate will be mailed to you within five
(5) business days.
It is
your responsibility to complete this course in time to receive your certificate
and then forward it, along with any court costs to the court in which you
received the violation.
